Most modern roses, even some heirloom varieties, will bloom all summer if properly groomed. New roses offer easier planting due to more pliable roots that need smaller holes and suffer less transplant shock. Rose leaves develop in sets of three, five, even seven or nine leaflets. Find hardy roses where the surviving roots enable plants to rejuvenate as the same plant variety, rather than the rootstock variety, after a hard freeze. New Generation Roses are available exclusively from Jackson Perkins.
