Rose leaves develop in sets of three, five, even seven or nine leaflets. Roses like a good, deep soak to promote deep rooting and they will actually develop drought tolerance if established this way. Search freely branched plants with a more natural, rounded habit and more blooms. New roses offer easier planting due to more pliable roots that need smaller holes and suffer less transplant shock. Each year, between 300,000 and 400,000 seedlings are grown and evaluated at the research facility.
